11w0d - CVS test this week

We've decided to have a Chorionic Villus Sampling test performed this week to check all three babies for chromosomal abnormalities. Since I'm over 35, we would like to know what we're up against.

Although I'm not looking forward to the test at all and I'm nervous about the miscarriage risk, I can't wait to see the babies again. We hope to see them wiggle around on the u/s. Since we last saw them at 8 weeks, they have now almost doubled in size, have elbows and knees, and have developed distinct fingers and toes. In fact, there should be 30 fingers and 30 toes now - no wonder I'm so exhausted!

Aside from receiving the chromosomal analysis results, the upside of this test is that we'll know the gender of all 3 babies in 7-10 days. Given the abundant blessing we've received, I know I'm in no position to ask the universe for any more favors, but having a boy/girl mix would be an absolute dream come true.

How exciting! I hope you get your boy/girl mix, my dear!

Okay, let's talk exhaustion. I am starting to think I am never going to feel rested again! I am tired from going up the stairs, going to the store, you name it. I have been napping at least once a day, and sleeping brokenly at night (a girl has to pee 4 times...) and I am still WIPED! It makes me feel better that you are feeling that too and I am not just lazy.

Cannot wait to hear the CVS results which I know will be GREAT and the genders! :)

HUGS!

Good luck this week. The CVS test, while not something to look forward to, will be a good thing to get behind you. How crazy you'll know the sexes already! Can't wait to hear ...

You just answered my question in my last post - about a boy/girl mix :)

Good luck for the testing. Are you going to do Amnio or a nucal fold test(s) or will the CVS testing cover this...it's amazing how the brain becomes blurry when all these things have past and life continues with babies...

Are you up to posting any of the scan pics on your blog...com'on wanna see the beans - at least email them :)

Hi! I am interested in your experience of CVS, only read one account of it, Julia of Here be hippogriffs did it with twins a few years back.. I wish on you an easy time of it, with wonderful results in all ways-- healthy and a good mix! Wishing you well, Kate
