The hCG level is 193.5. I predicted a level of around 200 just for fun. I don't know why; the number just came to me. We are most definitely pregnant and overjoyed!
Thank you all for your wonderful comments - and for sharing in our excitement. It truly hasn't sunk in yet. I keep staring at the pregnancy sticks thinking the lines will fade, or the outcome will change. For now, even the digital is still shining a brightly positive "Yes+" every time I look. It's completely surreal to think I am four weeks pregnant today.
The beta doubling test is Wednesday, and if all is well, then they schedule the first ultrasound when I'm 5 weeks along. I am so happy to be joining my amazing "pregnant-despite-infertility" bloggie friends, Chelle, InVitroVeritas, Kate and many others on the next phase of this crazy journey.
It's too early to tell our family, but my closest IRL girl friends who have been following our IVF journey already know. If your family lived far away and you couldn't tell them in person, how would you break the news? We have a few weeks to come up with a cool plan to tell the grandparents. If you've heard any memorable pregnancy announcements or surprises, please leave a comment. Thanks!

:-) Hooray!
Yay!!!! Great number! I have fantasized so many times about how I would break the news - I am sure you will come up with some great ideas!
All right! That is an awesome beta number!!! You are totally pregnant! Just keep repeating that- it is really fun. :)
Big huge hugs!
Carrie
woohooo! I'm so happy for you :) When our friends got pregnant they came over and while we were talking they just pulled out the ultrasound pics
The first time I got pregnant, we called my parents, and my in laws, and greeted them with "Hi grandpa / grandma" on the phone. My inlaws started crying, and my parents were too shocked to react. The second time, I told them something like "So do you think you can be here in Feb?" (I would have been due in Feb)- my dad didn't get it. I them asked him how far away Feb was - he said 8 or 9 months, and then he got it! (Sadly though my announcements so far have stayed at just the announcement stage)
Congrats, and good luck! Sending you many doubling vibes!
Yay! Congratulations :)
Woohoo! That's a great number! I'm excited to see Wednesday's come in over 400!
Hi! I am SO excited for you! Once I got to around 11/12 weeks we broke the news - only because by then we felt we were on more solid ground. People have different philosophies though. This certainly is a journey for you...and I am delighted you are on a "new path".
I called (from a distance) and just said "hello Granny"...yeah, it caused confusion initially coz the parents never thought it would happen but then they were dancing for joy and in delight. I know some who have emailed scans and said "howzit" pleased to meet you and so on. Looking forward to seeing your scans....This is a missive - I'll pick up the phone one day soon and we can chinwag - if you feel up to it. Hugs, S
Yay that's awesome!
If you are at all like me, you might end up taking more HPTs. I have taken 2 tests since I found out I was pregnant, just to make sure. It will take a while to sink in. I am going in for my first ultrasound tomorrow and I am 10 weeks, and it still doesn't seem real at all.
Good luck and I really hope things stay great!
I am so excited for you! I am praying hard!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations!
Yeahhhhhh! Great news...so happy to hear this, keep us posted for Wed. betas and know that you will be in my thoughts & prayers...
Yay, great number!!
Woohoo!!!!!!
Congrats!! That's a strong number. I'm sure you'll think of something creative. What a great moment it'll be :)
HOOOOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CONGRATS!!!!!
I dunno what to tell you about telling folks. I am not sure what we'll do WHEN we get pregnant, because friends and family follow our blog. I'm sure they'll be ecstatic any way you say it!
BTW, I left you something on my blog- and congrats again! So very happy for you!!!
Hugs,
Carrie
yay! i'm so happy for you! i told my parents by saying "hi grandma, hi grandpa" on the phone. my hubby told his parents by calling them each separately (dad hadn't gotten home from work) and talking to them about his day, reminding them to watch lost, and then he said, "hang on a sec...what? oh, cady wants me to tell you we're pregnant".
I left something for you on my blog... :)
