A girl has to be ready for any and every eventuality. I'm nothing if not a Type A personality who has to be in control at.all.times. I have to know the unknown, and plan the unplannable. This sounds a little Zen, but you know what I mean, right?
I don't have the embies in me yet, and I've already decided to POAS. Those of you who have been in the trenches with at-home TTC, zillions of IUIs and multiple IVFs won't believe this, but I've NEVER purchased a pregnancy test in my life. Dh had a vasectomy before I met him, so there was really no reason to ever suspect that I might be pregnant. Even after the vas reversal, we knew we couldn't get pregnant.
So there we were yesterday: hubby and I pouring over pregnancy tests in the grocery store and debating which ones to get. We were giggling like high school girls buying con.doms. We finally settled on an e.p.t. Certainty, the ones that show "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant" digitally. I know I'd drive myself crazy with the "line" ones... and I need more crazy like a hole in the head.
To check whether the trigger is still in my system, I might just get a few el cheapo ones from the D.ollar Store to do daily checks from 6dp5dt onwards. It will give me something to look forward to every day, being the obsessive gal that I am.
The kitchen cupboards are stocked with comfort food, the pineapples are ripe, the pregnancy test is at the ready on the bathroom counter, the chores around the house are done, and the clinic-supplied Val.ium is ready and waiting for tomorrow morning.
Bring it.

WOO HOO! Nothing like being prepared. I AM SO EXCITED for you. I can't wait to follow through with you on this...I am sending MANY sticky vibes your way!!! Can't wait to hear how it goes!!!!
it is smart to be prepared!
I am now a FRER/Answer convert. After torturing myself with dollar store, etc tests. As far as I know, those 2 don't do any line unless you are pregnant. For me, seeing the line darken made the wait for beta easier.
Good luck and have fun!
ooohh...good luck! i'm so excited for you! i haven't decided if i'm going to a hpt or not. i feel superstitious about it since i've had so many negatives, but it will be so hard to wait for the beta!
Good luck tomorrow! How nice to hear you still have 7 moving to day 5. I hope we are that lucky!
Ours is going to be Monday hopefully, so we can do some waiting together!
Thanks, gals. It's so nice to share this with all of you. Poppy, thanks for weighing in on the FRER/Answer vs. dollar store tests. I'm a POAS vir.gin!
Nicole, I never thought we'd have 7embies at this point. It's just ridiculous how fortunate we've been with this processbso far. I was nervous my cycle might get cancelled, that I wouldn't have eggs, Dh wouldn't have sperm, etc. etc. It's amazing how many hurdles we've cleared.
I'd love to wait it out with you. GL for Monday!
Good luck with the transfer! And with the sticks-on-which-to-pee. May they all be positive.
Bring them home and let them show those HPT's who's boss.I'm thrilled that you're here already. Good Luck.
Hi there - I just found your blog and I have to say GOOD LUCK!!! I am looking forward to your update.
Also - you have given me hope! I am on my third IVF, hubby had vasectomy, we are doing the micro dose lupron protocol for the first time.
Can't wait to hear how the transfer went!
Congrats on 7 embies and making it to blastocyst stage - that is GREAT! I empathize with the POAS and need to control the news thing. I did the same thing with my previous cycle. We'll be rooting for you on your 2WW! Rest up after transfer ..
I'm with you girl, I'm anti-POAS usually too...it just always makes me feel worse rather than better. My first HPT was after I was 3 days late on a med cycle and FINALLY decided to test (and luckily got my BFP).
The dollar store cheapies are perfect for testing out your trigger though. I hope the FRER gives you a decidedly PREGNANT anwer when you get there!!!!
Eve
